THE MISSION OF THE PARISH is to promote the whole mission of the Church of England in the parish.
The greatest challenge we face is to find the resources that enable us to succeed in that mission given the
size and diversity of the population living in our parish. The annual cost of maintaining two church buildings
and having a clergy team of vicar, assistant priest and curate is over £100,000.
Although we are close to the financial district of Canary Wharf, only a small proportion of our congregations
are professional workers. As such, any financial help from outside the parish is much appreciated.
There are two options for indicating how you would wish us to use your donation. Below are appeals where the
money raised will be used for a specific cause. Alternatively, you could make a donation to our General Fund to
help us meet our day to day expenses. Whichever way you choose, you can be assured that your gift will be valued
highly.

WE WOULD LIKE to give St John’s Chapel in the South Transept at Christ Church a refresh with new paintwork,
lighting, seating and floor covering. We are also in discussion with local craftsmen for a new altar and a new
Icon.
We have been most fortunate to receive a donation of £5,000 that will cover the cost of most of the work.
However, we need to raise a further £2,000 to bring all our plans to fruition.
We would most grateful to receive any donation to help us with these plans. To make a donation click on the
Donate button on the poster. If the poster does not display on your browser,

THE VICTORIAN CHURCH building that was St Luke's was bombed out suring the Second World War, since when the
congregation has worshipped in a make-shift chapel tacked onto the church hall. Our most ambitious project to date
is to redevelop the site to provide a new centre for the community, affordable housing and a beautifyul new church.
On the St Luke's page there are some architects impressions of how this will look when complete.
