Church Services

OUR MAIN SERVICES take the form of the mass (or eucharist or holy communion), based on Jesus’ last meal with his disciples before he was arrested and crucified. At that meal Jesus blessed bread and wine to be his body and blood, spiritual food to nurture and strengthen his disciples. The mass is centred on the blessing and sharing of the bread and wine, in the context of reflection on Scripture and prayer for the needs of the world, the church and ourselves.

On Sunday evenings we provide varied opportunities for worship through prayer, reflection on Scripture, and music. On the second Sunday of each month we hold a service of Choral Evensong according to the Book of Common Prayer. Morning and evening prayer gives a Scripturally based framework of prayer and reflection for the day. It is said at certain points in the week publicly in church, and at other times at home.
