Giving to the work of Christ Church, and the Parish Giving Scheme
Our congregation members are serious about giving. Whether you use a Standing Order, the envelope scheme, the open collection plate, or the Parish Giving Scheme, I and the Churchwardens want to thank you for your financial support for the work of the church. Of course you give primarily because you want to say 'thank you' to God, in response to the many good things he has given you.
In this coronavirus season it has not been possible to pass the plate around in a service, nor has it been possible for those who use envelopes to hand them in. And I know that this is of concern for you because you do take giving seriously, and you give sacrificially.
When we are through this season there will be a Gift Day when you will have the chance to pick up where you left off. It will be important for us all to give what we can, since the church will not have created the usual rental income while it has lain unused. Apart from the rent from the telecoms equipment in the tower, and the rent from St Mildred's House, which we thank God for earnestly, our rental income has simply stopped.
If you usually give via the open plate or the envelope scheme, and would like to use a channel of giving which is still open to you, the Parish Giving Scheme is by far the easiest and most efficient. You can now sign up by phone on
0333 002 1271
Lines are open Monday to Friday, between 9 – 5pm.
You will need to have your bank account details, church/parish name and PGS parish code to hand . For Christ Church, Isle of Dogs this is: 23A623156
You will be able to Gift Aid your donation, if eligible, and you will also be given the option to increase your giving annually, in line with inflation.
