How about flying the flag for love and inclusivity? Letter from the Metro newspaper, Wednesday 3rd September 2025
This is a letter reprinted from Metro Talk, Wednesday 3rd September
Trev Nunes (Metro Talk, Mon) makes an excellent point about language - how 'expats' and 'immigrant workers' mean the same thing but one can be used to divide and the other to unite us. One might add to the list patriots, immigrants, settlers, nationalists, colonisers, explorers or travellers.
We should aim to leave the world better than we find it, not spew hate, division and inhumanity.
It was so sad to hear of a Filipino NHS nurse being racially abused in a West Yorkshire park (metro, Mon). Two people have been arrested.
September has kicked off with bus strikes in London but now imagine a national strike by all 'immigrant' workers and their supporters - teachers, porters, hospital cleaners, GPs, surgeons, pharmacists, IT engineers, shelf stackers, adult social care workers, railway staff, baggage handlers, road sweepers and more?
Tommy Robinson's call for September 13 to be a day of UK flag-waving is welcome - but make it an inclusive rainbow (flag) one of love, of coming together in a united stand to help create heaven on earth, not unleash hell on earth with constant othering and disharmony.
Because what goes around, comes around.
Kamala, Kingston
